Birth, Bowling and Beds

It's been a crazy couple of days! On Sunday morning I got a text from one of my best friends telling me she had been in labor since 4:30am, she was due 11/3, so I began to make plans to head to Chattanooga because she had asked me to be her doula. I didn't leave until 8:30pm that evening and after 45 hours of labor she gave birth to a beautiful baby at 12:38am on Tues morning. Mom was a champ and had a wonderful team of doctors who allowed her body to birth in it's own time, I was in awe of mom and feel so privileged to have attended her birth! Baby Calliope and mom seconds after birth.

Mom, Me, baby Calliope and Dad, we're so happy we don't even remember we have been up for almost 48 hours!! Look for the full birth story here in the next few days.

On Wednesday Tristan's preschool class celebrated the letter "B" by going bowling. Nanny watched the girls so I could go with Tristan. This was his first experience with bowling and it went pretty well, we might even plan a family outing!

Tristan with his classmates!

Tristan bowling! He did pretty well for his first time, bowling a 47!

On Friday I started potty training Emeline, the first day was terrible, but day two went well with only one accident and as of today she hasn't had an accident since Monday, though she is still wearing a pull-up at night. Since she is potty trained we decided we should put the toddler bed rail on her crib so she can get out to go potty if she needs too. I was really nervous about this step, but she hasn't gotten out without asking yet, but I'm sure that won't last too long!!

She is so proud that she is such a big girl!! She is growing up so fast and we are so proud of how well she has done with potty training and sleeping in her big girl bed.

Evelyn is pulling up on everything and starting to cruise, she is eating more and more table food and won't eat baby food at all now. I'll try to post some pictures of her next time!
