On Monday I began the task of potty training. I attempted to train both Tristan and Emeline, but was mainly concentrating on Tristan because if he does not potty train he cannot go to MDO in the fall and he really loves it. After breakfast on Monday morning the kids each got to open a present which contained big boy/girl underwear, they were both really excited. Before they could put their new underwear on they had to watch a demonstration on correct potty procedures which was preformed by Emeline's doll. The doll showed them how to pull down their underwear, sit on the potty and then pull their underwear back up. After they put on their underwear they were confined to the kitchen, with no toys to distract them, and had to sit on the potty every 15 minutes and every 3 to 5 minutes we would have a dry pants inspection. Every time they sat on the potty and had dry pants they received a reward (m&m.) This went on for 2 hours. Then, Tristan went peepee in the potty!!! He was so excited because this meant he could leave the kitchen and go play. Tristan had two accidents that day, but would stop and run to the potty. By the end of the day he would say "Mom I'm going to the potty" and he would go sit and ask me to come see his peepee when he was finished. I ended up stopping training with Emeline because she was not interested and would cry every time she sat on the potty.

The kids were really excited about their new underwear.

Tristan is posing, not sure if he meant to pose like MJ.

Tristan wanted me to get a picture of the back of him.
On day 2 Tristan had two accidents and went poopoo in the potty for the first time!!
On day 3 the kids had to go to Nanny's house and Tristan went potty great there, he stayed dry his entire nap and he only had one accident that day.
Today is day 4 and so far he has gone poopoo in the potty and had no accidents.
We are so proud of Tristan and so excited that he is doing so well, it doesn't hurt that potty training is saving us $10 a week in diapers!! Once he is fully potty trained we promised him we would get him a fish tank for his room, he is already talking about what type of fish he is going to get!!
