Catching Up

There has been lots going on since I last blogged, here is my attempt at catching up. Emeline, Evelyn and I attended a baby shower for a friend of ours last Saturday. It was fun and a great chance to have some girl time. Here is a photo of us girls at the shower. There were lots of people there including

Pam and Rachel (Nate's mom and niece), Aunt Ashley, Aunt Lalo, Uncle Nate and Nana. The expectant mom is due on my birthday, so we'll see!! Evelyn has been working on sitting up by herself, she can do it for almost a full minute, but has become more preoccupied with crawling and is starting to scoot backwards rather efficently. She also learned how to escape her bumbo seat this week and can crawl out of it in under 5 minutes, needless to say the bumbo has been retired. She is loving her exersaucer more and more because she can stand in it which she is really trying to do. My prediction is that she will be really crawling in the next month. Evelyn has also been trying more foods; this week she added pasta, carrots, peas and sweet potatoes to her list of tried foods. She really doesn't like babyfood but really loves to just play around and chew on table food.

Here she is enjoying a carrot during dinner time. With the weather being so nice here we have been going to the park at least twice a week. Sometimes twice a day. The kids really love it and it gives us all a chance to get out of the house and burn off some energy.

They love the slide.

In honor of the beautiful weather we decided to visit Nana and Pa for the day Saturday, since we haven't been to their house in over a month. The kids had a great time playing with Nana and Pa and I got some homework done, did I mention the Fall semester began on Saturday? Pa even recruited Tristan and Emeline to help him wash his work truck. Tristan was really into it and did a great job, Emeline just wanted to play in the bubbles.

Tristan and Pa scrubbing away.

Emeline loves the bubbles. We had a great day and even got to go play on the playground and go over the new bridge. We also swung by to see Dad who was working, which is always a treat because the kids get to play in the fire trucks. With the exception of everyone having a cold this week and me having a sinus infection things are great here and we are all feeling better. We are getting back into the swing of things with Tristan starting back to school and me starting back to school. It's nice to get back into a routine.
