It's Snowing

On Saturday the weatherman was calling for 1 inch of snow in middle TN on Sunday. MA had to work on Mon. so the kids and I headed to Nana's so we could sled on Monday if schools were out. Well, schools were out and what was supposed to be 1 inch turned into 3 with a layer of ice underneath. It made for perfect sledding conditions. This is the first snow of the season to stick. Tristan was so excited that there was enough snow to play in.
Emeline really liked the snow too and outlasted the other kids sledding.
Evelyn liked sledding too, but it was so cold (18 degrees) that she only made three trips before getting fussy. We have a hill in the park at my parent's house that is perfect for sledding so early this morning we sent my dad out to block it off in case anyone tried to drive down it. Just one of the perks of having a park ranger for a dad! The conditions were just perfect, except for the freezing temps of course. The kids lasted about an hour, which is pretty impressive when the wind chill makes it feel about 10 degrees.

Nana and Emeline going on one last run before heading home. Emeline was a trooper!

There they go!! The hill was so fast because of all the ice under the snow. When the kids got too cold we put them in the car and Nana and I hit the hill a couple of more times! It was so fun, but we missed having MA, Ash and Lar there. Maybe next time. We're optimistic there will be lots of snow in 2011!!!
